Donnelly, Dorothy, author, librettist, actress; b. New York, N.Y., Jan. 28, 1880; d. Jan. 3, 1928. ASCAP 1923. Father was operator of Grand Opera House many years. Joined brother Henry V. Donnelly's stock company after completion of convent educa­tion. Played small parts several seasons, advancing rapidly and 1902 in role of "Lady Alvarez," opposite Robert Edeson, in Soldiers of For­tune. Created in U.S. 1903, the role of "Candida," played other roles, touring the country several times; created the role and starred as "Jac­queline" in Madame X, 1909-11. Wrote book and lyrics of Blossom
